Captains' Welcome

Our 2026 College Captains – Amy Cosford, Joshuah Craig and the College Captains have also prepared a welcome for our current and new students with a few inside tips about daily life at John Paul College.

Getting ready

First Day of School

The first day of Term 1, 2026, is on Tuesday 27 January.

Please be aware that a staggered start day will apply for certain year levels, and additional information will be communicated to families ahead of time.

Please refer to your email from the Kindergarten and Prep Team regarding your child's staggered start date.

All students, including new students, are required to go directly to their classrooms. Doors will open at 8.15am for a 8.30am Roll Call. For those students who do not know which classroom to go to, there will be staff available in The ARC to assist from 8.00am. Click here to access the College Map.

Day 1 - Tuesday 27 January 2026 (8.20am - 3.20pm)
Year 7, Year 10 and Year 12 students only

Day 2 - Wednesday 28 January 2026 (8.20am - 3.20pm)
All students (Years 7 to 12) commence regular timetable

New Students:

Year 7 students will assemble on the courts next to the Piazza, while Year 8 to 11 students will come directly to Main Administration by 8.00am. This allows us to prepare students for Roll Call at 8.20am in their Academic Welfare classrooms.

All Students:

We ask that ALL students wear their blazers on the first day of school; however, we do understand that at times there are delays. We kindly ask that any student who is without their blazer due to it being embroidered, or whose blazer has not yet arrived, bring a note from home.

Students are required to wear their formal uniform on the first day of term, which includes school ties for boys. Girls in Years 10, 11 and 12 do not need to wear stockings and boys are not required to wear long pants. Should any student have difficulty obtaining uniform items in time for the first day, we ask the student to advise their Academic Welfare teacher with a letter from the parent or guardian.

To help families stay informed and connected, we advise that commencement information will be sent to families to ensure a smooth transition into the new year.

For parents of new students, all relevant information will be available via the Admissions Portal until the student commences. At that point, families will receive an email with instructions to access MyJPC, the College's main digital platform.

Parents of current students will receive their commencement information from the College before the end of Term 4, with any updates to be included in MyJPC.
